Robert Rico

Robert Rico was born locally at UCLA Hospital. Rico spent most of his childhood in the beautiful west side of Los Angeles, specifically in Santa Monica and Culver City. That is where baseball fields became his playground and became the focal point of his early life. The practice ethics and the sportsmanship philosophies of Little League were influential to Rico. The simple standards of fair play and honesty were developed at the ballfield and he carried this approach with him throughout his life.

Rico’s spirit of team building and leadership lead him to a  career path in Bilingual Education at San Diego in 1989. He was a mere 21 when assigned his first class of ESL students at the junior high school level. He was teaching several subjects there and  assisted with the growth of the ESL program. Robert dedicated his time to his students for two years, then decided to return to Los Angeles.

Rico quickly gained a position with Culver City School District assisting our future leaders. His natural ability to aide and guide the children moved him to a health education position with the Culver City School District as a drug prevention counselor and educator. He remained with the school District until 2001. During this time Rico’s passion for assisting individuals grew outside of the educational setting and he was ready to assist families with their home purchasing opportunities. He earned his Real Estate license in 1995.

Rico was also motivated to gain his Real Estate license after he and his wife purchased their first home in 1993. He was reminded of how confusing and difficult the home buying and home selling process was for him and he was committed to creating an approach that would make it easier for others to clearly understand their real estate transaction process. Rico’s educational background assisted him with creating an approach that relied on passion and patience with the business world.  Within a few years, Robert Rico and his wife joined together to create a real estate team whose main focus was developing a relationship with our client as an individual, not just a business associate. Rico states, “We all have the ability to learn the real estate world and its tactics, but very few truly put forth the maximum effort to really understand and listen to their client. The ability to make them a friend”. Rico became one of the region's most recognized Top Selling agents with Century 21 during his tenure there. He and his wife have helped hundreds of families with their dreams of homeownership, something they thought they would never achieve. He worked very closely with the owner of his real estate company and was offered the sales management position with that office. Rico’s was very passionate with helping agents with a personal and realistic vision that would help improve and enjoy their real estate career.

In 2012 Rico became a member of the Keller Williams family in Westwood.  His decision to join KW was rather simple once he familiarized himself with company systems and beliefs. While learning about KW concepts, he was given the opportunity of a lifetime... to combine his two passions into one, education and real estate. Robert Rico and his wife, Carolee, created a real estate training company. Together with their business partner, Chase Milner, they have developed their single training class into a growing and productive company that is currently in 11 locations throughout Los Angeles.

Rico continues his real estate practice and has formed The Rico Group at KW with carefully selected elite realtors. “Our real estate group clearly understands that our clients are special. We treat our clients like family. They are depending on us today for a better life tomorrow”.

The motto is simple and clear. “Real People before Real Estate”.
